About the Role
HyGen Energy are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our growing operation in London.
Reporting to Senior Management, the role will see you take ownership of one, potentially progressing to several, of HyGen’s RES-coupled electrolysis projects with exposure across the entire project lifecycle, from initiation and planning through to close out and handover to operations.
The role will entail some involvement in the development of multiple pipeline projects, liaising and coordinating with HyGen’s engineering partners and technology vendors, alongside development of in-house project management capability and processes, in alignment with the broader Group’s NPIP and other QMS and PM protocols and processes.
Scope of Work
- Lead a diverse, multi-disciplinary project team to deliver electrolysis project(s) to agreed KPIs
- Management of the Project Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitor & Controlling and Close Out Phases, which indicatively includes
- Formulate Project Management Charter and Plan working with Senior Management
- Formulate and maintain Earned Value Management based project controls, such as Schedule and Cost Performance Index (SPI & CPI) metrics, alongside quality controls, with associated variance and trend analyses
- Formulate and maintain a Risk Action Issue and Decision (RAID) Log or equivalent controls
- Project close out, including acceptance of deliverables & procurement documentation and handover to Operations
- Conduct post-project review, incl. documenting lessons learned
- Manage market engagement with supply chain, such as RFP, RFQ or ITT, associated TBE, CBE and due diligence, focusing on technology vendors and service providers
- Management of Concept and Front End Engineering Design project phases, relying on third- party consultant support
- Management of EPC phase of project(s)
- Understand project Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) issues and assure these are being handled correctly
- Maintain good overview of UK legislative framework relating to production, storage and distribution of hydrogen
- Support in establishment of Company QMS, focus on project planning and controls
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Sciences is desirable
- Prior background in project management or project engineering, minimum 3-5 years
- Experience in an appropriate industry, ideally in Electrolysis or Fuel Cell sectors, else Industrial Gasses, Chemical Plants or Renewables
- Familiarity with MS Office suite, including MS Project or equivalent project management software
- Commercial astuteness and understanding of underlying hydrogen project economics
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
- Project Management accreditation with the PMI, Prince2 or equivalent is desirable

About the Role
HyGen Energy are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our growing operation in London.
This role will see you take ownership of our project engineering scope of work and provide the project engineering team leadership to ensure projects are delivered to required quality and safety standards and project timescales. This will be achieved through management of performance and development of the team and will involve the coordination of various engineering disciplines within projects.
The Senior Project Engineer will also be expected to act on occasion in a Project Engineering Manager capacity for a number of our projects, though always working with the project management function. The role will also entail liaising and coordinating with HyGen’s engineering partners and technology vendors, whilst also supporting in the development of in-house knowledge base, tools and processes.
Scope of Work
- Engineering input into, and review of, deliverables during Concept and Front End Engineering Design project phases of on-going projects, produced by third-party consultancy;
- Establish project procedures, templates and tools to (i) ensure third-party deliverables meet established engineering and project requirements and (ii) transition to Concept, pre-FEED and certain FEED deliverables being generated in-house;
- Assure that requirements for Design Verification are identified, scheduled, and resourced;
- Ensure effective communications among other engineering disciplines;
- Ensure effective management of change;
- Support internal reporting as required;
- Manage, or at the least, support in market engagement with supply chain, e.g. RFI, RFP, RFQ or ITT and associated TBE and technical due diligence, with a focus on technology vendors and service providers;
- Understanding of project Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) issues and assure these are being handled correctly in terms of design principles and processes;
- Have and maintain familiarity with UK and EU Hydrogen Regulations, Codes and Standards (RCS), such as ATEX, EMC, PED directives, ISO 15916 safety of hydrogen systems, IEC 60079 explosive atmospheres;
- Provision and review of technical inputs into project techno-economic modelling;
- Manage, or at least provide technical input into, funding proposals and development projects;
- Support HyGen Project and Construction Management functions throughout the project lifecycle, focusing on HSES considerations, engineering design and risk considerations;
- Technical input in definition of HyGen Operation & Maintenance principles and processes, together with third-party consultant support;
- Support in establishment of Company QMS and associated processes.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- BEng or Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably chemical or mechanical;
- Prior background in project engineering, in the five to ten years range;
- Familiarity with project work sequence, activities, and deliverables for Engineering Disciplines across the project lifecycle;
- Proven track record in Project Engineering and Interface Management;
- Broad technical knowledge set combined with excellent interpersonal skills;
- Experience in an appropriate industry, ideally in Electrolysis or Fuel Cell sectors, else Industrial Gasses, broader Energy and Oil & Gas sectors
- Knowledge and understanding of contract & project management principles is desirable;
- Engineering Management experience, with some site experience is desirable;
- Being a Chartered Engineer is desirable.

About the Role
HyGen Energy are seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join our growing operation in London.
With a number of projects in the feasibility and concept engineering stage, this role will see you take ownership of our process engineering scope of work, ensuring project deliverables are to required quality and safety standards, delivered within project timescales. There will be support by other engineering disciplines, both in-house and out-sourced, and project management functions to ensure interface management is to a high standard.
The role will also entail liaising and coordinating with HyGen’s engineering partners and technology vendors, whilst also supporting in the development of in-house knowledge base, tools and processes. For HyGen projects in the pre-FEED and FEED stage, or the subsequent EPC or EPCm delivery stage, this includes working as a member of the team to manage workstream and deliverables of tier 1 contractors and consultants.
Scope of Work
- In the first instance, review third-party produced engineering deliverables, such as Basis of Design, Block and Process Flow Diagrams, preliminary Heat & Mass Balance calculations and related Process Description and Equipment List, for a series of pipeline projects, with the aim to formulate the deliverables in-house, together with other disciplines’ inputs;
- Support in market engagement with supply chain, e.g. RFI, RFP, RFQ or ITT and associated TBE and technical due diligence, with a focus on technology vendors and service providers;
- Engineering input into, and review of, deliverables during Concept and Front End Engineering Design project phases of on-going projects, produced by third-party consultancy;
- Technical input into Risk Register, Site Layout formulations, FEL-0 TIC Estimates of pipeline projects;
- Provision and review of technical inputs into project techno-economic modelling;
- Understanding of project Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) issues and assure these are being handled correctly in terms of design principles and processes;
- Support HyGen Project and Construction Management functions throughout the project lifecycle, focusing on HSES considerations, engineering design and risk considerations;
- Technical input in definition of HyGen Operation & Maintenance principles and processes, together with third-party consultant support;
- Have and maintain familiarity with UK and EU Hydrogen Regulations, Codes and Standards (RCS), such as ATEX, EMC, PED directives, ISO 15916 safety of hydrogen systems, IEC 60079 explosive atmospheres;
- Support in establishment of Company QMS and associated processes.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications

- Sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards, statutory and regulatory requirements;
- Competent use of process engineering specific software;
- Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
